- Exercising in a warm pool (85 to 90 degrees) may be particularly beneficial
- It’s important to protect joints from stiffness or injury, preserve range of motion (flexibility in the joints), maintain circulation
- At least 2 grams of protein per 2 kg of body weight should be consumed per day
- Ensure adequate calcium and vitamin D intake to avoid osteoporosis
- Ensure adequate fibre (especially soluble fibre) intake and sufficient daily fluids to avoid constipation.
- Sudden or prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures in baths, wraps, saunas, or other forms of hydrotherapy should be avoided
